Why do some use glass baby bottles for breast milk?
When I was in the store today and saw glass baby bottles and it said on the package they were to use for breastfeeding. Are they better than plastic or is it just some prefer to use glass bottles? Thanks!

glass is easier to clean/sanatize and reuse

some plastic bottles are made out of something like bhp or whatever, im not even sure if thats it and glass bottles dont have that in them at all. so most feel better using them just because its safer. while not all bottles contain bhp or whatever you have to look closely to make sure they dont and with glass its a sure guarantee. glass is easier to clean, and steralize. they wont melt in the dishwasher. they break easier though. i never used glass so im not the wizz at them but this is what i do know about them:)

Glass is better for everything, seriously. It's simply that a lot of people can't afford them. However, they're better to use, nothing gets absorbed into them, they're easy to sanitize, etc. Plus, there's NEVER any BPA. (Or any other creepy chemical that hasn't been found yet.)

Glass is healthier and easier to clean. In a growing baby the last thing you want is some unknown chemical leaching into formula/breastmilk. BPA is found in many plastics, not just baby bottles. The other answerer (Barb) was pretty good, and pretty much said all that there needs to be said. ^-^

Glass bottles are actually NOT recommended for breast milk because the lukeyocytes in breastmilk adhere to the sides of the glass. Its ok to store it in glass bottles if you are freezing it because the lukeyocytes die anyways when they are frozen.

I used glass bottles ... I preferred them because glass is nonporous unlike plastic.

We always used glass for young babies, so I don't know why the statement. Lots of moms use plastic for breastfeeding and there are formula feeding moms who use glass. Plastic was for later, when baby wanted to grab hold of the bottle (breakage concerns).
