Grand Prix?
how do you get into the grand prix for show jumping?

Firstly, there isn't just one Grand Prix for show jumping - they way your question reads you seem to think there's only "the" Grand Prix. Secondly, you need to be able to jump fast and well over 5' + fences with all different looks and obstacles (like liverpools, brick walls, widespread oxers, etc).... And thirdly... if you are working at that level, you are not doing without a trainer - who will be able to get you started into you Grand Prix show career. Good luck.

Years and years of training and working towards the Grand Prix ring, with an experienced trainer or multiple trainers to help get you the skills to ride at the G.P. level. However, you must also realize that at the GP level (1.50m+) that those riders are the best of the best in the sport. They are like the NFL first string players or the MBA first string players. So many people want to get there, but only so many have the skills and talent. So work hard and harder and harder and be patient with yourself and especially with your horses, since they also have their limitations and you have to work as a team. Flat work always has and always will be the key to success, since 90% of jumping is flat work. Good luck.

Anyone can do it. You just have to have the horse and the money for travel, entry fee. All that. Some people use other peoples horses though. Like Beezie Madden doesnt own Authentic.

Lots of money, a great horse thats athletically capable. A qualified trainer to help you. Needless to say ... lots of talent & dedication on your part.on your part.
