Has anyone ever turned a regular charcoal grill into a charcoal grill insert?
I want to turn my charcoal grill into a grill insert but, not sure if it can be done and why. It is a barrel type of grill with vents on the right and left side with a smoke stack on top. The way I see it, all I have to do is cut the legs off, attach a vent hose to the vents and start cooking. FYI... the base will be made of concrete bricks

What are you going to insert it into, the inserting part sounds doable to me, the only question would be about spacing between the grill and any flammable substances.. Fire places, wood stoves and etc have minimum clearance requirements, you will have to follow them for your grill or risk igniting the surrounding surfaces.

My Brother-in-law caught his deck on fire doing that.
