A Linear Garage Door Opener Can Make it Easy to Get Into Your Garage

linear garage door opener

Many people are opting to get a linear garage door opener for their home nowadays.

These make accessing your home easy for you, but very difficult for anyone else. With these door openers, you can put in a code or press a button, and your garage will open.

Some of the most popular types of these garage openers have a button on a remote that you keep inside your vehicle. This makes it very convenient to get into your garage no matter what.

If the weather is bad, all you have to do is push a button and you can pull right in. These remotes often clip to the visors in the vehicle, and you can have multiple remotes programmed for the same door.

Other popular garage openers include keypads that sit just on the outside of the garage door. These make it easy for family members to get into the house without having to carry a key. As you can see, adding a linear garage door opener to your home can really make getting into your garage much more convenient.

Today's Discussion

I have a Linear garage door opener and it refuses to close during the day. Do I need to replace sensors?
I was told to clean the sensors to make sure dirt wasnt blocking transmission and i did it. I was told the sunlight could blanch the beam and to move the sensors back away from the door and that didnt work. When the door is closed the red light indicates it is receiving transmission however it occasionally flickers. When the door is open the red light goes off completely with occasional flickers. Could this mean I have bad sensors? The garage door opener is approx. 3 years old and has never closed during the day without a manual override. Thanks for you help!!! If they are bad do I have to buy specific ones? each sensor has a green light and the receiver has a red light when it receives the beam. when i shake the wires the green power light of the sender goes on and off, maybe the sender isnt getting enough power.

one idea, do the sensors come out of alignment when the door is open, if not then are they wired correctly. because shouldnt the light be green and not red ??? try unhooking the sensors all together and see if the door works correctly, if it hasnt worked since day one i would venture to guess something above is the problem. i have never heard of the sun causing problems but then again. lol

Try switching the sensors / the right to left and the left to right , the primary may be getting to much light and this should fix the problem
