Purchasing Mechanic Tool Sets

mechanic tool sets

When it comes to purchasing mechanic tool sets-whether you are looking to start one or add to your collection- it is a wise choice to purchase name brand high quality tools even though it may look like you are getting a better deal when purchasing the lesser known inexpensive brands.

The main reason for this is cheaper tools tend to be of a lesser quality and may lead to problems when you are right in the middle of a job and one breaks. A couple of the most well known brand names are Craftsman and Stanley-Bostitch which sell mechanic tool sets of the highest quality and most come with a lifetime guarantee.

When purchasing brand name mechanic tools you should try buying them in sets with many different sizes as opposed to buying them individually as this can save you a great deal of money. Brand name mechanic tools can seem very expensive but are well worth the investment in the long run as you could end up buying the same tool twice with the lesser known cheaper brands.

Purchasing tools online through mass merchandisers such as Amazon is often times the best way to go as the selection is huge including brand name mechanic tool sets at very completive prices due to the large volume of sales made every day.

Today's Discussion

Looking to buy a Mechanic Tool Set which one?
I work do quick service work. My biggest problem is tool organization. It's cheaper for me at time to buy new versus taking time sorting out tools. I must bought into all Craftman tools mechanic sets, but the case is TOTALLY CRAP, they never stay secure and I spend too much time sorting time out. Taking to the next level, I need 12 pt. So who has the greatest small mechanic tool set, up to 100 pc other wise it become to heavy to carry.

You made a good choice in your initial tools. As a mechanic grows,so must your tools. Any back yard guy can break a wrench and replace it,because he only uses every other week or so. You'll need quality in your tools. I find myself with my favorite ratchet every job. [seems to jump out to me] Even tho' your box is a headache you should see the problem. [Psst,it's the case, not the tools!] Get a quality, organizing, toolbox because your new tools will be needed, as well as your old tools, always near. Keep your tools as you have, good old quality made, lifetime warranties. There are a number of good Ole' American Name Tools. Cheap pretty ones don't work as professional shop equipment. IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE PRO STORAGE ALSO! "BRILLIANT"!!!!
