Many professionals that place their focus on studying the health and the sexuality of humans have discovered that there are many measurable advantages that are physiologically based for men and women alike. Of course, there are more benefits if the sexual activities that one engages in are considered to be regular and enjoyable than if the sexual activities are not regular or enjoyable. The one physiological downfall to sexual based activities is that it could lead to a sexually transmitted disease. However, if you practice safe sex or simply engage in sexual based activities with only one partner that you know to be clear of any diseases, you will be able to benefit in numerous ways from sex.

In a study conducted in 2001, it was established that individuals that engaged in sexual based activities on an average of three times a week were able to drastically reduce their chance of developing a heart attack and even a stroke. In addition to this, it has been established that sexual activities provide a high level of physical fitness to those that engage in it. It has been established that one sexual encounter contributes to burning at least two hundred calories. This means that the muscles may become more developed, more fat will be burned from the body, and that weight can be lost by simply engaging in intimacy with someone you have feelings for.

Once an individual engages in sexual based activities, the body produces a hormone that is identified as "Prolactin"; this helps to create new neurons in the brain. These neurons are created in the part of the brain that is directly responsible for the sense of smell. This means that when you engage in sex on a regular basis, you will be able to smell better.
