I have seen the bags at the store so you dont have to use plastic bags but what r we suppose to do with the trash we have from the stuff we buy? Like empty containers and just trash dont it go in a plastic bag,????

well you recyle it. safeway is participating also which is a good thing.and im not sure but . its better if you take your trash to somewhere near where they pick out trash

I use the bags I get from the stores and stuff them with the recycleable stuff around the house then throw it in my bins. It's easy to just walk around the house and pick up bits of junk mail, empty soda cans or what ever to do a quick pick up with one of the bags on my arm. my friends call me the recycle queen cause I have 3-30 gallon recycle bins that are full every week and have MAYBE a half a bag of random trash only!

In a perfect world there will be easier ways to recycle everything; nearby bins for us to put it all. The main push it first to use less, but grocery bags are perfect for bathroom trash cans. Many communities have bins you can request for curbside pickup, instead of using more bags. My recycles get driven to the dump/recycle facility since we don't have curbside pickup in our neighborhood. As for regular trash, there are biodegradable bags available in grocery stores. Keep recycling - someday it will be easier to do.

Anything that you can't recycle, you throw into a trash can. Then you put it out on the curb and a big truck comes and picks it up and puts it in a landfill. When the landfill gets full they build a beautiful golf course on top of the garbage.

You using plastic shopping bags for trash bin liners too? Glad I'm not the only one; haven't bought a bin liner in years since I get them free from the store.

Mary Claire
use em as garbage bags.
