Buying Plus Size Girls Clothing Online

plus size girls clothing

Purchasing plus size girls clothing can be challenging as many of your local department stores do not stock a very large selection of the latest fashion styles and variety. This is changing somewhat as they are starting to acknowledge the growing demand for this size clothing.

However, you may still find it difficult even when finding something in the style you like when it comes to matching size and color. Your best option when it comes to buying this type of clothing is online where you'll have a greater selection to choose from along with the latest in fashion and style.

Shopping online for plus size girls clothing not only gives you a wider selection of the more commonly worn clothes, but also clothing items such as formal wear, lingerie, swimsuits, and accessories. With clothing designers and manufacturers recognizing the significant increase in demand for this size clothing, they are producing it in more volume which creates stiffer competition among retailers.

This benefits you as the consumer when purchasing online as there are no longer just a few small specialty stores which carry plus size girls clothing, but also mass merchandisers such as Amazon.

Today's Discussion

Does your daughter wear girls plus size clothing?
If you have a daughter that wears plus size clothing, where do you shop for her? What brands do you like best? What do you hate about the girls plus size clothing industry or what do you think is missing?

as someone who wears them and my mom also wears them ( I know we need to lose weight , big time ) also as a mom who's had kids and gained weight that ended up wearing the plus size in the first place I shop at fashion bug, walmart has ok plus size clothes but fashion bug has much better. I noticed tho that the companies that make them seem to think all fat girls are really tall because even the petite plus size pants are waaay too long. I'm 5'3 and my mom's only 5' and we still have to hem our pants. I hate that. I don't know why they make them soo long. I also don't like how they think that fat girls don't have big boobs ( most of us do ) so they never make the shirt's roomy enough to accomodate our big bust. I don't plan to be in these sizes forever. Hopefully , sheesh Im only 25, I better not be.

My daughters do not wear plus sizes, but they do wear slim sizes, which are sold at the same stores that carry a plus line. How old is your daughter? If she's still little (under 10), you might want to try Land's End (either catalog, Sears, or website). They have a lot of cute and age-appropriate clothing in plus sizes, and even their regular sizes are pretty generous. They also have a very nice line of plus-size bathing suits. If your daughter is a preteen. you might want to try Limited Too. They have nice, fashionable clothing in plus sizes for preteens. Your daughter will look very up-to-date, while still getting clothes that fit her well, and she'll feel good about herself. I am a plus-size adult, and I can tell you that what I hate about the plus-size clothing in general is that there's no need to make "different" styles for the larger folks. Many of the clothes they sell for conventional sized people would be just as nice if made a bit larger. Instead, they design a whole different line of "old lady clothes" for the overweight. It stinks!

What the first answer said, I really suggest that you bring your daughter to a dietitian. Allowing a child to get so fat is tantamount to neglect.

When I was about 10-12 years old, I was a little husky (even though thats a term for boys). But, I remember being able to find clothes at Sears and JC Penney that carried plus sizes. If your daughter is just a bit husky, and might be right before or going through that puberty age...she might eventually grow out of it, like I did. Don't let these other people who are judging your parenting based off your child's size bother you. Every child is different.

Don't Pay attention to the rude people , if they don't want to answer nicely they should go find a different question . I shop for my daughter at Kohl's . They are not expensive , and they have the styles she likes .

Khols has a nice selection as well as Pennys and Goodys. I buy at those stores for my neice and she can get the same styles as my daughter who wears slims.

Sometimes its not the parents. Okay my 6 year old daughter has a little belly on her, but according to her pediatrician and the AMA she is fine for her height, weight and bmi. But she does wear plus sizes. We get her clothes at JC pennys and walmart. she is in that akward stage where she doesn't where a 7 but a 7 1/2 is still too big. BTW: my daughter is in soccor and gymnastics and she eats a well balanced diet.

I have 2 friends with plus size girls.... JC Penney's carrys a good line. My other friend buys a lot for Lands End for her (grandchild who lives with her). I have also noticed that Target is carrying some plus size clothing for girls. I have nothing against any size child but I am finding it hard to find clothing for my children who are skinny and need slim items. They want stuff with characters on them and the waist will fit around them twice on whats at Wal-mart.

My daughter likes plus size shirts (if we buy kids sizes) because she hates shirts that are too short. Shirts tend to shrink, a lot, so depending on the cut and fit, we sometimes buy a plus size because if it shrinks any, she won't wear it. She's at that age where most adult clothes are too big (or too mature-looking) , but kids sizes are getting too small.
