Only if there are strings attached. Be careful of gifts. There are stories about well meaning grannies who almost wiped out their church's Knights of Columbus with baked goodies. Bad eggs. They had diarrhea. Dont give to anyone in particular. If you have a restaurant, make the gift to the whole detachment as in |"ten percent off your bill if you dine here" Then it might qualify as a tax reduction for you. When in doubt, ask your police accountants.

Um, your name is sexaliciouslatina, do we really have to guess what types of "gifts" these are?

The cops in the town I live would take freebies and gifts even if it was illegal, they are more crooked that any citizen I have ever met.

You are treading a dangerous line. It may be considered a bribe, even if you aren't asking for anything. It would be unethical for the police to take them, also, IMO, unless it was going for some group.
