Anyone know why a 2000 pontiac Grand Prix makes a scraping sound when making a hard left turn?
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. When I make a U-turn or something similar, it makes a scraping or grinding sound. This is only when I turn left. It does this in reverse, also. (I think it's louder in reverse.) I am not braking. It doesn't scrape all the time, just when doing a hard turn. We checked the power steering fluid and it's OK. Does anyone have any clues as to what this might be? I would appreciate any help you might have. Thanks so much!

your cv joints might be shot. if not, check the boot, it could be catching on something

it sounds more like a swaybar link they connect the swaybar to the control arm. should be inexpensive and a quik repair.
