Is this suspension lift worth it? I have a 2006 Mazda Tribute, and I've been digging around in various auto places trying to find someone who can do a suspension lift for it.
I finally found someone who was willing to help me out.. There is a 1.75" lift kit available for the Ford Escape which will also fit my Tribute. This, including freight and installation, is going to run me about $1400 total. He said with this I should be able to have tires on the same 16" rims that are 31.8" (275/70-16) giving me about a 3.5" higher ride total.. However, That's a lot of money for me to throw down, Im looking at probably around $2000 including some nice new tires :/
Is this worth it? I love the look of lifts and bigger tires SO MUCH but I'm stressing out about the price tag :/ (And I live in Alaska, this does NOT come cheaper up here)
There are several mods I want to do to my Tribute, including this lift, off-road lights (which will run me about $650), HID headlights ($60)..
The catch though is that Im moving to Maine in July or August and am "supposed" to be saving up for that. But the thought of driving some ugly stock car drives me insane, heh.
Help me make up my mind, as I clearly cannot do it myself.
Do I spend that $2000 to get what I really want my car to look like, or do I suck it up and go without? I make about $1200-$1300 a month currently. Not sure if I'll get a raise between now and August, although I'm "supposed" to, as my co-worker makes $15 an hour and Im going to be equal to her in another month or two.
If I go without, I'll probably do some "lighter" stuff like some underbody lights, HID headlights, safari bar, etc to satisfy my craving for "different".
Sorry if that came out as a rant. I over-analyze and get anxious easily. What would you do in my situation?
P.S. I want the lift both for looks AND for ground clearance.
Celebs excited about cycle post petrol price hike IBNLive.com Maybe, a filmmaker would show the new reality, people worrying about petrol prices, looking at public transportation and even car pooling as an option. And, songs like mujhko bhi lift kara de would be replaced by mujhko bhi lift dila de and motorbike ...
