When you set up your home theater, don't forget to use projector screen paint to create your screen. If you are going to have a front projection TV, this is vital to your viewing quality.

After spending a lot of money on setting up your viewing area for your home theater, it would be a pity to have the picture lousy because you used the wrong paint on the wall for the screen!

Using regular latex wall paint will not give you the results you need. Latex paint does not reflect light enough to be used for a projector screen.

So what is the solution to this problem? Get an acrylic paint in white that is designed especially for such a purpose.

In fact, this paint is a specially made acrylic white paint that is highly reflective. This was made special for the video projection business.

Once this paint is applied to a smooth wall or surface it is a great high-quality projection screen. You can even purchase kits that include everything needed to make the screen. projector screen paint kits would even include the paint rollers to apply the special paint.

It kind of depends on what size you are looking to build. Mine is 32' X 16' and I used 1 1/2 EMT which is like the long pipes that they use to build fences. I got the screen at www.dazian.com which as an outdoor lightweight and heavyweight fabric. You can also get some good info here www.backyardtheater.com

With it being outdoors I would use a semi-gloss outdoor white paint. You could invest in a paint on screen material but the elements would wear on it heavily. You could also try the bathroom wall laminate sheets at the hardware store and make your own screen.
