How much is the cost for PTAC(packaged terminal air conditioner) installation service? Can I install it myself?
I want to buy a packaged terminal air conditioner on the Internet and hire somebody to install it. I wonder how much is the installation service for a PTAC(packaged terminal air conditioner). Also, how hard will it be to do it myself? Can I install it myself? Thank you so much in advance!

It's better you have a professional HVAC technician work on the installation. The price should be within 400$. Installing a split AC is easy for any AC company, but can get tricky for a homeowner. Plus, you may void your warranty if you can't provide the invoice issued by Installation Technician. Please check the following FAQ

Hi, The most difficult aspect of a PTAC install is cutting the hole in the wall and framing the sleeve. It should fit snug in the wall so cool air can't escape. Usually, a professional hvac installer is recommended, but if there is an existing hole in the wall the install is pretty simple. Just make sure the unit is level or you may get condensate water dripping into the room side. good luck!

You can give your family cleaner and fresher air by doing something as simple as changing the filter on your air conditioning unit. Your filter traps dust, dirt and impurities and prevents them from escaping into the air you breathe.
