Can pure peppermint oil be used orally?
I'm suffering from IBS and have really bad cramps almost daily. I heard peppermint oil is meant to help. Can anyone tell me if i can use pure peppermint oil orally and if so how many drops do i put into a glass of water? It doesn't give any instructions on the label. Help!

Personally, I always take the tea version where I infuse the herbs in hot water. My impression on taking the pure oils orally is that they are so concentrated & so strong that they may be toxic and damaging to our internal organs when consumed even in small amounts. This is my own personal point of view and others may have contrary opinions on this.

- Dilute 2 drops of peppermint essential oil in a teaspoon of honey, then pour on this half a glass of hot water. - or 1 drop of peppermint oil in a glass of cool water.
