Phasing out date of R 22 Refrigerant by Indian government?
HCFC 22 or R 22 refrigerant is proposed to be used in an Industrial air conditioning system. It is learnt that this refrigerant is banned in EU including UK with a cut off date of Dec 31, 2009. What is the Government of India’s stand on this refrigerant? Is Government of India has fixed any cut off date for stop using this refrigerant? What are the refrigerants that are permitted in place of this refrigerant R 22?

Good luck with that. Laws are passed all the time, but very few follow them. In the USA, many refrigerant technicians just intentionally break a refrigerant line and let it escape to to the atmosphere when they don't have their gas recovery bottle with them.

This may help: Regardless of India's stance that refrigerant will cease to be manufactured by the patent holders. R-22 price has escalated to about $15.USD per Lb, as people stock pile.
