reconditioned air compressors

By using reconditioned air compressors, you can save a lot of money. Brand new compressors can be quite costly. If you are a homeowner or a contractor with a low budget then buying a new one is simply out of the question. However, an air compressor that has been reconditioned can be just as good as a new one.

The only real difference between new and reconditioned is the warranty. Reconditioned ones usually do not include a warranty or guarantee. A compressor that has been fixed, tuned up and tested for air quality is considered a reconditioned compressor.

Depending on your needs a reconditioned unit may or may not be the right choice for you and must be considered before purchasing any compressor new or used. If you intend to use your compressor every day, then buying a new one is probably a better idea. However, for temporary projects or a compressor that you can use on occasion throughout several years, then a used compressor will be more than sufficient for your needs.

If you find that you do not have it in your budget or just need a compressor for the day, then there are many places where you can rent or lease these used compressors for very little money.

Today's Discussion

Does anyone know of a good source of cheap reconditioned tools, particularly air compressors, on the web?

Few things are as sure to me in life as there are no good, cheap tools or equipment. Tool Crib of the North sells factory reconditioned equipment from manufacturers like DeWalt, Porter-Cable and others. These sell for about 80% of the price of a new one and carry a new warranty. There are other sources or reconditioned equipment, you could try local factory service centers or Googe reconditioned compressors, but you will get what you pay for.

I agree with Tool Crib. Also, try www.tool-mall.com/air-compressors.htm. Haven't used them, but they have what you're looking for.

At 'Amazon' you can buy reconditioned tools; such as, air compressors. These are from the company directly in most cases. However, I'll agree that you will get what you pay for. With an air compressor, such as, some of the Makita or Porter Gable models you may find it was reconditioned for a reason. When looking over there i rely heavily on 'Feedback' if a product has no feedback then i pass it by. If the feedback over all is not a good sounding voice from the people who purchased this item - then i pass it by. Do not purchase out of 'desire to have it' or 'because it is a deal you cannot pass by.' There is a good chance you will learn the deal of the day is not such a deal afterall. Many items at Amazon, even on the 'NEW' items do have 'Free Shipping.' This is why I get my tools there - not all items qualify all the time though - but I save a bit where I can.
