How to get the red color I want and keep it from fading?
I just dyed my hair red again. I like it but I want a deeper and more shocking red. My hair is really dark so whenever I dye it, it really only acts as a tint. I wanted it to stand out a bit more. And how can I keep the red color from fading as quickly? Any tips would be appreciated as well as suggestions for hair colors or brands. Thanks.

Sally Beauty has color specific conditinors that help lock in color, I am not sure of the name but if you ask for color specific conditinor, they can show you. Will you please return the favor? :)

U SHOULD BLEACH IT FIRST I DI THAT AND IT LOOKED GREAT BUT IF U ARE U SHOULD BY SOME HAIR MOISTURIZING THINGS AND HAIR OIL SO IT DOESN'T GET TO DAMAGED :D

I have this same problem. I usually only dye my hair with temporary and it works great but when I tried to go red, the semi and permanent both just left me with a tint. I heard that instead of dyeing every 6 weeks do it every 4. I haven't tried it yet but I am going to keep my eye on this question because I'm sure somebody will have the answer.

Bleach out your hair a few shades lighter. Not really white-blonde or anything but a few shades lighter to make the red more intense. I do my hair in red and I'm a natural blonde so it's hard to keep the color from fading. I use Pantene's "Red Expressions" Shampoo and conditioner. It's like $5 a bottle and it really does work for keeping color in.
