An RV Water Tank Saves On Travel Stops

If you have an RV, then you will find an RV water tank an invaluable part of your excursions. The tanks come in sizes from 3 gallons to almost 200 gallons, depending on your needs.

For campgrounds that have water hook-ups, you might not need to worry about a large water tank.

But if you like to use your RV in the wilderness or in parking lots where there are no utility hook-ups, a large water tank might be the best solution.

Most of the tanks are made from strong, durable plastic and they are shaped conveniently for filling and transporting. While you might not ever think you will need your own water tank, you never know when it might be a life-saver.

If you travel quite a bit in your RV, then having an extra means to get emergency water always comes in handy. Even if you don't travel that much, they are so affordable that you can hardly afford to be without one, just in case.

Having your own RV water tank allows you to have water at your disposal whenever you need it and there is no need to stop, which saves time and sometimes, money.

Today's Discussion

How do I repair my RV fresh water tank that overflows when hooked to City water?
When working correctly, the one hookup to city water fills the storage tank and also provides demand water to the sinks, toilet without the need for the water pump. What is now happening is that the tank fills and then overflows.

Get a water pressure regulator valve at the hardware store, it controls the water pressure going into yourtank.

I would think that somewhere in the tank there is a float valve....It may be sticking or just plain shot.

The problem isn't high water pressure. First thing, are you certain that your city water connection is supposed to automatically fill the fresh tank then stop? It's not always like that... mine has a lever to switch between "fill" and "city." My ideas: 1. Faulty or incorrectly-selected switch that's controlling the switchover between tank filling and city water service. 2. Faulty backflow preventer is causing city water to flow uncontrolled into the fresh tank. 3. Faulty "freshwater is full" shutoff device isn't stopping the filling process.
