Using a Screwpull Wine Opener to Easily Open a Bottle of Wine

screwpull wine opener

There are many accessories which one can use to open a bottle of wine; however the easiest way to accomplish this is with a screwpull wine opener.

While the "waiter wine opener" is the most commonly known of these accessories, having a sharp knife at one end which cuts the seal from the wine bottle and a corkscrew at the opposite end for removing the cork, it can be quite difficult for some people to use as this type has a tendency to break the cork leaving pieces floating in the wine.

The screwpull wine opener has a housing which covers the corkscrew and a handle on top which allows you to surround the opening of the bottle and have a firm grip while twisting into the center of the cork until it is all the way in then simply pulling up with one motion releases the cork.

These corkscrews come in many different styles and sizes which can include a foil cutter, table top, and pocket size. There are also  screwpull wine opener gift sets which can be found online from sites such as Amazon.com and make a great gift for any wine connoisseur.

Today's Discussion

How do I insert a cork with a "Screwpull" wine opener?
I was given a "Screwpull" wine opener. It is supposed to remove and re-insert the cork. I know how to remove the cork, but I don't know how to adjust it to reinsert the cork. No instructions came with it, I'm not that dumb! also, the manufacturer IS "Screwpull". I can't find a site for them.

When in doubt, read the instructions. If there are no instructions, contact the manufacturer.

With a simple screwpull you can't. With more complicated ones this is supposed to be possible, but without the make & model anyone giving an answer would be guessing
