I think it is nonsense. If you want a cup of coffee put a damn tablespoon of the stuff at the bottom of a cup and add water. How much are they stealing from your pocket with that thing? They are environmentally unsound. You tend to buy all those single serving cups made out of plastic and foil and ink and production and labor. Think about it. Do you want to know the best coffee maker in the world. It is those simple little french presses called the Bodum. The coffee goes in, water on top, then you press down the grinds through a sieve and pour off the clear coffee. There is nothing mystical about coffee. There is nothing that a lever and a buckle and pot and a name and a plastic hole to put the little shape into is ever going to do to the taste of the damn coffee. I do not need a computer to tell me whether I am making tea or coffee. I do not need a premeasured cup, I can scoop a spoon quite well on my own. I do not need a huge ugly thing taking up my counter space and electricity and demanding that it be washed and scrubbed with this solvent or that solvent. I do not need it. You do not need it. No one needs that silly piece of nonsense. Be smart and do not fall for the goofy crap that they push on us.

NAM
I agree with Black. It's really quite ridiculous.

Except for the lack of taste from instant coffee, the others have a point. I just use a french press with real (fresh) coffee. It's simple, cheap, and doesn't take up space on my counter while emptying my wallet.
