truck strobe lights

Driving a truck can be a dangerous occupation, especially if your truck breaks down. This is where truck strobe lights can be worth their weight in gold.

Breaking down on quiet roads is bad at the best of times, but when the visibility is bad or it is after dark your truck can become a stationary death trap.

I had a near miss when my truck broke down on a country road at dusk. Visibility was bad, and I had no strobe light to make others aware of my truck.

I was on a slight bend and another truck that was approaching me didn't see me until the last minute. Thankfully the driver had his wits about him and successfully swerved away from me, but things could have been very different.

Now I make sure that I have strobe lights for emergencies that I can put on the front and back of my truck so that other drivers can see me.

I chose strobes that were magnetic so you can place them wherever you want and remove them easily. There are of course other types of truck strobe lights to choose from, so see what is on offer and buy them if you are a truck driver.

I want to wire up some LED strobe lights onto my truck -- do I need a relay?
I have two 4-bulb LED strobe lights. They do not use a power supply, they are self contained. Do I need to use a relay? I don't really know what relays are for, other than my trucks foglights and headlights have them.

So they have a battery and a switch on them? All you would need a relay for is to turn them on and off at the same time or if you were hooking them to your battery. and when you think of a relay think about you light switch, cause thats all it is is a switch.

Your headlights use a relay to avoid sending a big current through the light switch (your starter uses a solenoid to avoid sending battery cables to the ignition switch). As the first answer pointed out, if you don't need power, you won't need a relay. The way your question is worded, it sounds like the problem is how to turn them on an off. Assuming you wanted to mount them on the exterior, you would have to run wires to a switch inside. If you can leave them on your dashboard, your problem is solved (assuming they have an internal power source).

Your headlights utilize a relay in order to avoid sending a major current with the light switch Just how your question is worded, it appears like the thing is the best way to turn them while on an off. Assuming it suited you to mount them on the outside, you would need to run wires with a switch inside. If you possibly could leave them on the dashboard, your complaint is solved
