True Love Waits Rings for Sexual Purity

true love waits ring

True love waits rings allow Christians to firmly take a stand and show their commitment to remaining sexually pure and avoiding temptation.

Rings gleam brightly and come in different styles. Some rings feature the words "true love waits", a traditional purity vow on the inside of the ring.

On other rings, the words are inscribed on the outside of the band. Hearts, crosses, diamonds, cubic zirconia's, sterling silver, gold and platinum elements are featured on these purity rings. Spinner ring, princess cut styles and stacker rings are some of the most featured styles.

Some rings offer customization by allowing engraved messages to be included. You can have the names of two individuals who have made a commitment to honor Christian vows engraved onto the rings. You can also choose to prepare a small personal message for the wearer.

Purity rings can be purchased as a Valentine's Day present, as part of a sexual purity ceremony at a Church or as a present from parent to child to pass on the beliefs of their faith.

The rings can also be exchanged between engaged couples. Regardless of the reason, true love waits rings offer a lasting symbol of a strong spiritual relationship with God.

Today's Discussion

What do I do with my True Love Waits ring when I get engaged?
I've had my True Love Waits ring for about five years now, and it's, of course, on my ring finger of my left hand (as it's suppose to be). However, my boyfriend and I have been talking about marriage a lot lately, and I think he's going to propose soon. So, when he does, what do I do with my TLW ring? Do I wear them both together, or is it acceptable to just wear the engagement ring?

Wear your engagement ring. Store away your True Love Waits ring. You found you True Love! Congrats and best wishes!

Save it and pass it down to you daughter!

Aww well Congradulations in advance! :) You know I've actually wondered the same thing. I've had mine for 10 years (since I was 12, I'm 22 now..lol) but have decided because it's been a big part of my life that I will probably want to continue wearing it even after I'm engaged, and then married. My first thought was to wear it on the same figure on my right hand. But then I decided that when the time comes.. I want to have is resized to fit my "wedding toe." Lol. I want to wear it on the toe that aligns with my wedding figure. The reason being is Jesus had my heart.. and wearing it on my foot would resemble me going wherever He is. Like that song. "Where You Go I Go" by Brian & Jen Johnson. So some ideas. Hope it helps. :)

You could wear it on your right hand till the wedding, and then put it away in a safe place.

you dont know me
I like the idea of storing it and passing it on to a daughter (or niece if your not blessed with a daughter). True love waits, you waited, congrats, so you dont need to wear it anymore. Your future fiance/husband might be disappointed if your still wearing a symbol of waiting for true love....

Keep wearing it until the wedding, because even if you're engaged you still have to wait until the wedding night! You could, as some folks have said, pass it down to your daughter (or son - come on, it's not like only women are supposed to wait, what a double-standard that is!). OR- you could give it to your husband on the wedding night in private before you consummate your marriage ;) And then he can wear it on his right hand or on a necklace to remember how patient you were in waiting for him & that can encourage him to be patient throughout any sexual temptation he may experience throughout your marriage (purity doesn't stop when you get married, there will be temptation still - you have to stay focused on each other, don't flirt with other people, don't look at porn, etc.) Congrats on your commitment!
