A simple way to help keep the kitchen organized and to save space is by adding wall pot racks to it. These simple shelves are easy to install and come in a variety of styles and finishes for the kitchen.

One of the most common wall pot racks is a bookshelf style pot rack. This style allows for plenty of hanging pots and generally has a grid surface for hanging hooks along edges and in the center if needed while making a shelf to place pots and even books upon. The other bookshelf style wall pot racks are made with a solid shelf instead of the grid style. Many of the bookshelf style pot racks have two shelves for even more kitchen space.

Another style of wall pot racks are corner pot racks which are great for awkward or unused corner areas of the kitchen. Some of these styles can even be stacked to create a whole shelving unit in the kitchen or even in other rooms of the house.

One of the simplest designs is the bar style pot rack. This style is particularly useful for placing under an existing cupboard making it almost hidden. This style is great for hanging pots on as well as kitchen utensils keeping them close by for use. Wall pot racks are a great way to keep all the kitchen tools used the most at your fingertips.

Calphalon wall pot rack: any clue how to get it on the wall??
My husband and I received a whole set of the awesome cookware for our wedding a year ago, love it, but had nowhere safe to keep it from scratching. My parents bought us the wall mount for Christmas this year, but the instructions basically say "good luck on your own" for figuring out how to get it on the wall. I couldn't believe it doesn't even recommend items to buy from the hardware store to do it! We don't mind doing it of course, but does anyone who's had experience hanging wall pot racks know what kind of things we need to buy to hang it on the wall? Thanks!

Go to the hardware store and ask for the really really heavy duty hollow wall ankers, the ones that mushroom out and are rated for hundred or more pounds each. Also see if you can locate the wall studs and see if you can put lag bolts through the rack into the wall. Personally, I would consider staining a piece of oak and lag bolting that into the wall studs, then lag bolting the rack to the piece of oak.

It just depends on how the rack is designed. You want to find at least one stud. If it's not designed with 16" stud centers, just find one and put a sheetrock screw in it (if it will not show). For the other side, use a wall anchor. You want the kind that are metal and expand as you tighten the screw. How much it weighs will determine the exact anchor you will need. Some of them will hold over 100 lbs on a sheetrock wall. The weight of the entire unit will be divided by the number of anchors used to determine how much each of them will need to carry. If the unit weighs 100 lbs and has two mounting brackets, 100 lb anchors will be double the needed capacity (2-100lb anchors will support 200 lbs). If worst comes to worst, take the rack to Lowe's and ask somebody (if you can find somebody). Edit: I like 'Dav's' idea if the rack isn't designed for whatever stud centers you have. A piece of wood can be cut to accomodate your layout, regardless of the rack itself.

Oh Jeez! We've done this! That stuff is heavy!! You have to mount it into the studs in the wall. Use the lag bolts. The hollow wall anchors won't stand up to the weight. The suggestion about mounting a piece of wood to the studs then mounting the rack to it is excellent. The wood can be stained OR painted to match the kitchen. Don't use nails!

With little money and effort, you can organize your kitchen. Mount a metal towel bar on the back of your pantry door to create a rack for pot lids. Add a tension rod in the front of pot drawers to create an easy home for lids.
